Rishab Shetty is currently on a busy schedule with his upcoming movie – the prequel of Kantara – being filmed in his hometown of Kundapura, despite touring Bengaluru at a fast pace. The multi-talented actor and director recently achieved great success at the 70th National Awards, winning accolades such as Best Actor and Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. In the past, Rishab received critical acclaim for his directorial work in Sarkari Hiriya Prathamika Shale Kasaragodu, which earned him the National Film Award for Best Children's Film in 2018. Expressing his joy and fulfillment at finally realizing his long-standing dream of receiving a national award, Rishab shared his excitement about this significant achievement in his career spanning two decades.
"I have always aspired to win a national award since the beginning of my journey in the industry," Rishab remarked with enthusiasm. "Being recognized with such a prestigious accolade is truly gratifying and adds a special touch to my career milestones." He also dedicated this prestigious award to his team, the people of Keradi, and the local performers known as daiva nartakas.
Regarding his film "Kantara," which holds sentimental value as it originates from his roots and hometown, Rishab expressed gratitude towards the film's producer Vijay Kiragandur for believing in this unique project. He specifically thanked the community in his village, Keradi, for their unwavering support during the filming process, crediting them and the divine blessings for his success.
In response to the declining audiences in movie theaters, Rishab offered a simple solution – craft memorable and engaging content that resonates with viewers. He emphasized that the scale of production does not necessarily equate to a successful film, highlighting the importance of creating an experience that leaves audiences feeling satisfied and content after leaving the theaters.
